Safety/Security Sensitive Designation:
This is a safety/security sensitive position for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment.
* Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
* Exercise a high degree of expertise, initiative, and independent decision-making.
* Responsible for performing at a high level to ensure that YRCC programming is delivered at a high level.
* Provide general facility supervision for all YRCC programs, events, and participants during scheduled and unscheduled events.
* Ensure that facilities are adequately prepared, maintained, suitable and safe for internal and external program and event use. Supervisory duties may include overseeing volunteers, interns, program participants, facility users, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
* Assist in the administration of the YRCC office including but not limited to performing general data entry and accurate record keeping, assisting with program registration, annual memberships, contract agreements, facility rentals, incident reports, accident reports, volunteer applications and delivering program information to the public (e.g. program details, updates, scheduling, etc.)
* Help plan, implement, and evaluate YRCC after school programs, summer camp program, and physical education program for homeschooled youth.
* Assist with the facilitation of and day-to-day responsibilities related to the assigned YRCC programs including but not limited to managing youth participants, operating a fifteen passenger van, scheduling, maintaining rosters, behavioral logs, identifying items to be purchased for the programs, etc.
* Meet short and long-term goals for programs along with conducting annual evaluations and surveys.
* Assist in the recruiting, training, and scheduling of student interns and program ambassadors /volunteers.
* All actions must be in accordance with the City's policies and applicable laws.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
* Secondary duties as assigned.
* High School diploma or GED.
* Education and/or experience providing public service to children in recreation, community-based programs, physical education, or a closely related field preferred.
* Must possess a valid Driver's License.
* Must successfully pass criminal background check, including but not limited to convictions, guilty pleas, or no contest pleas to violent offenses, theft offenses, offenses against children, and any offense that would qualify to prevent a person from obtaining an Arkansas teaching certificate (A.C.A. 6-17-410).
* Must be available to work during YRCC core hours. (After school 2pm-6pm Monday-Friday, X-Factor 9am-12pm Tuesday/Thursday, and Saturdays 10am-2pm)
* Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification within six months of hire.
* Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
* Must be proficient in the use of a computer and other related software programs and effectively operate standard office equipment.
* While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
