Summary of

Job Duties

The First Year Engineering Course assistants will be responsible for at least one section (usually two sections) of an FEP course. Duties include answering questions related to assignments and projects, classroom set up and clean up, aiding the instructor and/or guest speakers as needed. Assistants will also have designated office hours within the FEP Center, grade one or more sections, attend meetings, and support departmental events such as FEP Welcome Picnic, Recruiting Sessions, Honors Research Symposium, and Annual FEP Banquet.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is essential.

Qualifications
  • Junior standing or higher in the College of Engineering during both semesters of employment
  • Good judicial standing with the University of Arkansas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous course assistant experience
  • Participation in the First-Year Engineering Program
