Fayetteville Montessori seeks a Montessori-trained Elementary Lead guide for the school year. OverviewThe Fayetteville Montessori School was established in 1974 and operates year-round, excelling in fostering independently motivated learners through child-centered classrooms utilizing Montessori materials. The campus consists of 6 buildings, accommodating students from 6 weeks through the elementary years. Through a meticulously prepared environment and mixed-age group classrooms, students receive a hands‑on education from highly skilled instructors. This approach enables students to emerge as ambassadors of peace, equipped with essential habits, attitudes, and skills for a lifetime of creative thinking and learning.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree: Preferably in Education or a related field
- Montessori Credentials: AMS, AMI, or MACTE
- Minimum teaching experience: Five years
- Relationship development: Ability to cultivate positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and other members of the FMS community
- Team player: Flexible with a proactive attitude
- Collaboration skills: Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse range of individuals
- Adhere to school guidelines and professional standards
- Maintain a prepared Montessori environment
- Deliver established Montessori scope and sequence
- Ensure the safety and well‑being of students in the classroom
- Maintain a supportive and collaborative partnership with administration and colleagues to assist with curriculum development and implementation within the context of the School's overall program and Mission
- Collaborate and participate within a divisional team
- Engage in ongoing Professional Development
- Attend all required faculty and team meetings
- Maintain and participate in a home/school partnership through consistent communication, setting up conferences, and educating parents in Montessori philosophy
- Utilize student record‑keeping, lesson planning, parent reports, and parent conferences via Brightwheel
- Foster an inclusive, equitable, and diverse learning community
- Remain student‑centered, collegial, passionate, and innovative
- Participate and assist in leading Parent Education evening events
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Grade Level Team Lead or Head of School
Montessori-trained teachers can expect to:
- Work primarily in a traditional climate‑controlled classroom environment, with periods spent outdoors
- Engage in standing and sitting for extended periods
- Supervise groups of students and regularly interact with parents, staff, and visitors
- Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
- Perform actions such as turning, bending, and reaching
