Dyslexia Teacher

The Dyslexia Teacher provides specialized instruction and intervention for students identified with characteristics of dyslexia. This position supports student growth in reading, writing, and spelling through evidence-based practices and collaborates with staff and families to ensure student success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver structured literacy instruction aligned to district-approved dyslexia programs
• Implement the Take Flight dyslexia curriculum (preferred) with fidelity
• Conduct dyslexia screenings and assessments to identify student needs and monitor progress
• Analyze student data to inform instruction and intervention decisions
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and services
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, interventionists, and administrators to support students
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
• Participate in professional development related to dyslexia and structured literacy
• Travel between assigned school buildings to provide services

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching license (required)
• Training in the Take Flight dyslexia curriculum (preferred)
• Experience administering and interpreting dyslexia assessments (preferred)
• Knowledge of structured literacy, phonological awareness, and reading intervention strategies
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
