Job Description

Student Support Interventionist

Holt Middle School, 2026-27, Funded by Federal Programs, Title I.

Reports To: Building Principal

Compensation: Classified position – Paraprofessional lane, 8 hours a day

Number of Days: 180 – One Year Contract

Qualifications: Current degree or licensure commensurate with position.

Position Summary

Provide assistance and support to students who display at‑risk behaviors and reduce lost instructional time due to behavior‑related issues. Assist teachers in implementing positive classroom management and behavior modification techniques. Support parents in increasing positive discipline strategies. The role includes daily lunch duty/monitoring.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with school leadership to assist in a school‑wide positive behavior supports system to address the needs of all students, using a tiered intervention model.
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify students in need of behavior intervention.
  • Maintain documentation of student progress collaboratively with classroom teacher.
  • Work directly with at‑risk students and their parents to modify behaviors to reach successful outcomes.
Skills and Abilities

Required

The following characteristics and physical skills are important for the successful performance of assigned duties.

  • Sound knowledge of child development and behavior modification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to effectively collaborate with teachers, leaders, parents, students, and district personnel.
  • Collect and analyze data from a variety of sources and evaluate the results of data‑driven plans.
  • Communicate with at‑risk students.
  • De‑escalate heightened student behavior and emotions.

Pay Range: $24 or $25 (Based on Education)

Step: 6-12 (Based on Experience)

Hours: 8 hours/day

Contract Length: 180 days

Position Type: Full‑Time
