Summary ofJob Duties
The Academic Advisor position will provide academic advising support for approximately 250-300 engineering undergraduate students. The academic advisor will assist students in their educational and career goals, develop degree guides to achieve those goals, help students understand academic policies, and utilize campus resources. The academic advisor will also assist with New Student Orientation.
This position will report to the Assistant Director of Advising in the Engineering One-Stop.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education, conferred by the start of employment
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- At least one year of experience in academic advising, student services, higher education, student success, enrollment management, or a related field (graduate assistant experience may be substituted)
