Technology Instructional Assistant – Tech Time

Owl Creek Elementary is seeking an enthusiastic and technology-minded individual to provide Tech Time instruction and support for students in Kindergarten through 4th grade.

The Technology Instructional Assistant will work directly with students to develop foundational technology skills, keyboarding proficiency, digital citizenship, and age-appropriate computer science skills. This position will provide engaging, hands-on learning experiences that help students become confident, capable, and responsible users of technology.

• Provide scheduled Tech Time instruction and activities for students in grades K–4.
• Teach students foundational technology and computer skills appropriate to their developmental level.
• Provide keyboarding instruction and opportunities for students to develop proper typing skills.
• Support instruction aligned with Arkansas Computer Science Standards.
• Introduce students to age-appropriate computer science concepts, coding, computational thinking, problem-solving, and digital tools.
• Teach students responsible and appropriate use of technology, including digital citizenship and online safety.
• Help students learn to navigate computers, applications, educational programs, and other digital resources.
• Create engaging, hands-on activities that encourage students to explore, create, problem-solve, and collaborate using technology.
• Differentiate activities and provide support based on students' individual needs and skill levels.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment.
• Monitor student participation and progress in technology and computer science skills.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to support students' technology needs.
• Assist students and staff with basic technology questions and troubleshooting as appropriate.
• Maintain and organize technology materials, equipment, and instructional resources.
• Stay current with technology tools and resources appropriate for elementary students.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Strong interest and comfort with technology.
• Ability to learn and use a variety of computer programs, applications, and educational technology.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and staff.
• Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to manage a classroom or small group of elementary students in a structured and engaging manner.
• Previous experience with keyboarding, coding, computer science, or educational technology is preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys working with children and loves technology. We are looking for a person who can make technology fun, engaging, and accessible to young learners while helping students develop skills they will use throughout their education.

This position is more than simply supervising students while they use computers. The Technology Instructional Assistant will provide purposeful instruction and hands-on experiences that help students learn, create, problem-solve, and become responsible digital citizens.

Pay Range 24 or 25 (Based on Education, this is not the hourly rate of pay)

Step 6-12 (Based on Experience)

7.5 hours/day

180 day full contract
