Summary ofJob Duties:
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas is seeking candidates for a nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Childhood Education faculty position with a specialization in elementary literacy. The Assistant Professor of Childhood Education is a full-time, nine-month position to begin August 16, 2027. The successful candidate will join a vibrant team of faculty in a department growing in stature and recognized for excellence in teaching, research, faculty development, and student success.
The Assistant Professor of Childhood Education will be expected to teach undergraduate coursework in literacy methods across foci such as emergent and developmental literacy, reading comprehension and/or writing; conduct research that results in peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations; pursue external funding through grant proposal submissions; participate in student advisement and mentoring, including service on dissertation committees; and collaborate with P-6 schools/educators to coordinate clinical…
