Summary
Project Designer (PD) designs or assists in the design of construction projects dealing with Land Development projects such as, site design for new buildings, recreational facilities, trails, drainage, and other site related projects. A Project Designer must also have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the fields of civil engineering and landscape architecture.
Responsibilities
- Develop construction documents for site development projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Construction documents sets include site plan, grading and drainage, utility, erosion control, plan sheets and applicable details
- Coordinate with the project team to develop and complete projects on time and on budget
- Complete plan review comments from internal quality control process and from the city review process
- Assist the Project Engineer and Landscape Architects, and Project Managers in completing technical specifications
- Prepare written communications, applications, and reports
- Review and implement municipal zoning ordinances, geotechnical reports, as well as state and federal codes to ensure project compliance
- Work in partnership with Project Managers and staff to identify opportunities and constraints for development sites, assist in municipal meetings and submittals, and complete plan revisions as needed to obtain project approval
- Prepare for, attend and may lead meetings with internal and external clients
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Landscape Architecture
- Knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures
- Thorough understanding of site planning and land development
- AutoCAD, Civil 3D, 3D modeling including grading plans
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of engineering and landscape architecture

- Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.
- Internship in Civil Engineering or Landscape Architecture
- Most travel is limited to short or day trips to visit jobsites, meet clients, etc. Overnight trips are not generally required.
