Project Manager - Construction Material Testing

Our Construction Materials Team plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and performance of materials used in infrastructure and building projects. We test and analyze concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates to support the structural integrity and compliance of construction efforts.

As a Project Manager I, you will lead and coordinate construction materials testing projects from initiation through completion. You will oversee the full project life cycle to ensure timely delivery within scope, schedule, and budget. You will manage laboratory and field-testing operations, client relationships, compliance with industry standards, and the professional development of your team.

• Assemble and lead project teams, aligning technical skills with project objectives.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the client, contractors, and internal teams; communicate project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develop and manage project budgets, monitor costs, and ensure adherence to financial plans to maintain client satisfaction and profitability.
• Manage complex contract negotiations and coordinate change requests.
• Identify potential risks or additional costs and implement mitigation strategies.
• Organize and lead regular project meetings to ensure alignment on expectations, performance, and deliverables.
• Oversee detailed reviews of technical work to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Document all project deliverables and maintain comprehensive records.
• Secure appropriate resources for all project phases to ensure timely and successful completion.
• Mentor team members on project management best practices using internal tools and resources.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
• Foster and maintain strong client relationships to support future business opportunities.

• Strong communication skills and ability to contribute in a team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, sciences, construction, planning, or related field preferred.
• Minimum eight years of project experience within an applicable field or discipline with increasing responsibility.
• Proven track record in meeting and exceeding client expectations through project management activities.
• Excellent client service orientation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills with the ability to generate innovative solutions to complex problems.
• High level of organization, leadership, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Keen interest in engineering disciplines, particularly within the industrial sector.
