Job DescriptionJoin Our Team as an Intern and Start Your Career with Webber. The internship provides on-hand support to various roles within Webber in a dynamic 12-week program focusing on Safety, Survey/Estimating, Project Supervision, and Field Engineering. Internships are available at multiple locations across Webber’s Heavy Civil, Waterworks, Infrastructure Management, and Energy divisions.
Your RoleDrive excellence through technical expertise and innovation. The internship is designed to provide exposure to multiple disciplines and hands-on experience on active projects.
Your Responsibilities- Gain understanding of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Hazard Safety Observations (HSO).
- Know and apply necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for jobsite activities.
- Observe and help prevent safety incidents.
- Conduct jobsite audits.
- Learn how to interpret plans and set layouts.
- Understand how to survey for quantities.
- Gain knowledge in measurements and accurate surveying practices.
- Assess man-hours and materials needed for production.
- Communicate and delegate work plans to field crews.
- Currently enrolled in a Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, Construction Science/Management, or related 4-year degree program.
- Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communication.
- Moderate to high level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to handle items and work with the hands.
- Full understanding of Construction Math concepts.
- Ability to perform moderate to high levels of physical activity in a field-based construction environment.
