CAD Technician - Fayetteville, Arkansas
As part of the Water team in Fayetteville, AR, the CAD (Civil 3D) Technician will develop civil engineering designs for water and wastewater projects and other site/civil related endeavors within Garver’s Water Business Line.
Responsibilities- Coordinate survey services.
- Develop detailed plans and details.
- Ensure compliance with Garver’s quality program and standards.
- Develop civil standards, tools, procurement and training.
- Model, layout, and profile yard piping networks and water/wastewater treatment facilities using Civil 3D.
- Produce facility layouts, grading, paving and drainage plans, and demolition plans.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, designers, engineers, quantity estimating and QA/QC.
- Accurately complete drawings based on markups and detailed direction.
- Organize drawing structures and files per company standards.
- Adhere to layering standards, line types, line widths, and plot styles.
- Generate plan and profile drawings with station numbering.
- Utilize gravity and pressure pipe networks.
- Develop cross sections, calculate volumes and plan quantities.
- Interpret as‑built drawings to develop existing condition models.
- Generate coordinates, boundary information, and survey data.
- Maintain consistent design procedures across projects producing record drawings.
- High school diploma.
- At least 1 year of experience with Civil 3D.
- Experience with Autodesk software including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Experience in civil engineering design.
- Associate’s Degree in CAD or related 2‑year degree.
- Experience with BIM file sharing software.
- Experience using REVIT.
- Previous experience designing, planning, and specifying for water and wastewater projects.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Bluebeam and MS Office suite.
- Strong teaching and coaching abilities.
