The RoleAs a Controls Engineering Intern, you will collaborate with the Controls Engineering Manager, Technical Leaders, and cross-functional teams to support meeting the vision of the Controls group with proving insight and ideas on improvements (processes, standards, best practices, and tools) that boost the team’s effectiveness and efficiency. This position reports to the Director of Operations.
- Contribute to 1-5 projects daily.
- Support the electrical and mechanical design teams.
- Contribute to PLC, HMI and Robotics program development.
- Assist with hands-on assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of custom automation equipment.
- Work closely with your project team to find solutions to achieve targeted functional outcomes within defined budgets and timelines.
- Given the client-focused nature of the work, employees may be required to work over weekends or outside of standard business hours as needed.
- Reliable transportation and an ability to travel;
Controls Engineering Co op at CGX should have the ability to travel within the US and Canada - Enrolled in a post-secondary engineering program, seeking a pre-grad work term.
- Eagerness to learn while working with a team to develop custom industrial robotic automation systems.
- Willingness to learn through a variety of tasks, challenges, and projects while supporting your team.
- Talented team player capable of working efficiently with a multi-disciplinary team.
