Role Overview

Team: Accounting

Reports To: Rachel Proctor, CPA – Director, Accounting

We are seeking a dynamic accounting professional to join our Family Office team, exclusively supporting a select group of ultra-high-net-worth families and their operations. This position is ideal for an individual with strong general ledger and financial reporting expertise, who values financial integrity and discretion as a trusted steward of critical financial information.

Responsibilities
Treasury & Cash Management
  • Monitor daily cash activity and balances across multiple accounts and operating entities
  • Coordinate payments, transfers, and funding activity in accordance with internal controls and procedures
  • Support cash forecasting and short-term liquidity planning
  • Review and approval of payroll prior to submission for processing
  • Maintain complete and organized documentation related to cash movement and banking activity in accordance with policy requirements
General Ledger & Period Close
  • Oversee general ledger integrity and consistent application of accounting principles
  • Ensure appropriate account classifications, journal entries, and adjustments
  • Verify transactions are recorded timely and accurately, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for key accounts and transactions
  • Independently manage month-end close process across multiple related entities
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and standard adjusting entries
  • Ensure proper cutoff, completeness, and accuracy of transactions and financial data
  • Prepare routine financial reports and supporting schedules for client and dedicated team of advisors, as well as external professionals
  • Ensure financial records are accurate, consistent, and reliable for decision-making and compliance purposes
  • Support external reporting requirements through well-organized documentation and strong client/entity-specific knowledge
  • Manage issuance of Tax Forms 1099 for applicable service providers on an annual basis
  • Oversee annual franchise tax filing and payment across all entities
  • Work closely with external tax return preparers to procure and provide required tax documents and collaborate on tax projections and payments
Process Oversight & Professional Judgment
  • Exercise professional judgment, identifying complex or non-routine matters and escalating appropriately
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for accounting questions within assigned areas
  • Analyze trends and variances, investigating and providing explanations when appropriate
  • Own day-to-day accounting workflows and checklists, ensuring adherence to established policies and internal controls
  • Identify deficiencies or risks and propose solutions where applicable
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage recurring deadlines
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills and commitment to excellence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Multi-family office or single-family office accounting experience
  • Prior experience in a client-facing or advisory-oriented accounting role
