About

The Role

Acres is hiring a Senior Accountant to help run the day-to-day financial operations of a fast-growing land intelligence company. You’ll work across AP, AR, and the close process—keeping the books clean and the business informed.

This is a hands‑on role with real ownership. You’ll collaborate across teams, support our external tax and audit partners, and be the go‑to resource for finance questions from around the business. You’ll report to the Corporate Controller and work closely with the FP&A team and CFO.

Core Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing the month‑end and year‑end close process and preparation of financial statements and filings in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
  • Manage accounts payable, including reviewing invoices, approving payments, and managing vendor relationships.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, including invoicing customers and working with the customer success team on collections.
  • Coordinate with external tax accountants and auditors; remain relevant on GAAP principles and knowledgeable on tax concepts.
  • Manage 1099 filings for contractors.
  • Oversee employee expense reporting and corporate card reconciliation, enforcing company spend policies and ensuring accurate GL coding.
  • Answer ad hoc finance questions from across the business.
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field;
    Master of Accountancy and/or CPA license preferred.
  • 2‑3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Detail oriented with a strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
  • Experience with Quick Books or other accounting software.
  • Exemplary knowledge of GAAP.
  • Outstanding communication skills to collaborate and work cross‑functionally.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment.
