Job SummaryThe Juvenile Intake Officer is responsible for fielding initial outside referrals for new cases, creating and maintaining the computerized and physical case files, and preparing the case files for court. The Juvenile Intake Officer is also responsible for the supervision of juvenile cases prior to adjudication of a FINS or Delinquency Case, including monitoring court order compliance of juveniles and their families, and referring juveniles and families to services needed for rehabilitation.
The Juvenile Intake Officer will be required to create and maintain case documents, enter case file information, administer assessments, and testify in court, and will work as part of a team to address an array of juvenile and family situations. This position requires strong organization skills, accurate computer data entry skills, decision-making and problem solving skills, and the ability to interact effectively with juveniles, families, community groups, and other agencies.
The Juvenile Intake Officer may be called upon to provide case file support, data entry, case supervision, and courtroom testimony for one or both divisions of the Washington County Juvenile Court.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required, this position is subject to pre-employment and reasonable suspicion testing and if a promotional position, candidate must pass an assignment drug test.
