Hourly Rate starting at $24.65 with minimal experience. Starting pay could be higher with additional experience.

Position will work 8 hours per day and 235 days per contract year.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for performing duties essential to the function of HR including employment and teacher licensure; will administer day-to-day human resources department activities including policy interpretation, new hire paperwork, assisting employees and supervisors with personnel problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinates the hiring and onboarding processes for certified and classified staff, including responding to benefit-related inquiries, verifying contract terms, ensuring completion of all required federal, state, and district employment documentation, and facilitating new-hire paperwork and orientation.
  • Initiates insurance enrollment for new employees, coordinating with state and supplemental benefit providers to ensure timely communication and enrollment opportunities.
  • Maintenance of Personnel files.
  • Compose, prepare and review a variety of reports, memorandums, presentations and documents as assigned; distribute reports for review and use by HR and Administrative Staff.
  • Entering and maintaining employee information in the HRIS (E-Finance/HR Database).
  • Interface with the Business Office for setting up and changing employee payroll.
  • Issue employment contracts to all staff and follow up to ensure timely completion and signatures.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of all job descriptions.
  • Seek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skills development, training and goal setting.
  • Compile data and generate reports of all Human Resource Information for internal and external use/surveys.
  • Create, maintain, and track performance evaluations for classified staff using the Perform system. Assist with troubleshooting.
  • Provide support and serve as backup for the HR Manager and Benefits Specialist as needed.
  • Continually update and track Federal and State required employment postings in all building locations.
  • Oversees the maintenance of employee injury and workers’ compensation records and coordinates all related leave, accommodations, and work-restriction processes with supervisors and other relevant district personnel.
