Summary ofJob Duties
The Manager leads a growing student analytics workforce within the Department of Strategic Data & Process Innovation, supervising and developing student analysts who deliver projects to academic and functional units across campus. This role combines student supervision, analytics mentorship, and project management, and is ideal for an experienced analytics professional who enjoys developing people and maintaining high standards of analytic quality.
The Manager does not personally build dashboards or deliverables, but deep analytics expertise is essential to train students, review their work, and ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and evaluate student employees.
- Train students in analytics tools, methods, documentation, and professional communication.
- Manage project intake, scoping, quality assurance, and assignments.
- Collaborate with campus stakeholders and report project updates and operational insights to the Director of Operations and Campus Partnerships.
- Maintain reliable attendance and create harmonious working relationships.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, information systems, business analytics, or a related field.
- Experience reviewing and guiding analytic work for quality and usability.
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL, Python, and/or R.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working in higher education or a complex institutional environment.
- Prior people management experience or student supervision.
- Experience building or supporting analytics programs, internships, or workforce pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, data classification, and responsible data use.
- Ability to mentor, train, and develop students in analytics and professional skills.
