Job Description
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services within Takeda. You will support plasma center operations, working under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. Key responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing lab results, managing referrals, contributing to vaccination programs, incident management, pandemic coordination, and providing EHS support.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse event monitoring and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer and provide guidance on donor safety and eligibility issues to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health regarding further evaluation.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or nursing program graduation equivalent with state requirements.
- Current LPN or LVN license in the state of assignment.
- Certification in CPR and AED.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum 2 years clinical or hospital experience.
- Hourly wage range $25.60 - $35.20 (commensurate with experience and qualifications).
