The role of the Registered Nurse reports clinically to the physician and administratively to the Clinic Manager. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care, assisting physicians with procedures, and assisting with front office duties, as needed.
Essential Position Responsibilities- Obtain patient vitals and update patient medical history while inputting data collected into the electronic medical records system
- Prepare patient for various types procedures and/or examinations and assist physicians, as needed
- Refill provider-authorized medications via electronic, fax or phone as authorized and appropriate
- Provide direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the physician
- Assist patient by providing direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the physicial.
- Serve as patient liaison and advocate, as needed
- Schedule surgeries and various diagnostic tests and provide scheduled date to the patient
Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Licensure and
Certifications:
Valid registered nurse license and CPR, required.
Experience:
Previous experience with phlebotomy, required. Previous experience in nursing in an OB-GYN setting, preferred.
This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
