Postdoctoral Fellow
- Biomedical Engineering

The Postdoctoral Fellow
- Biomedical Engineering will contribute to the lab's efforts in using tissue engineering approaches to study cancer-nerve crosstalk and develop combinatorial therapeutics. In both projects, the postdoctoral fellow will establish 3D tissue-engineered cultures, conduct molecular assays including but not limited to omics analyses, perform advanced imaging for volumetric and metabolic profiling, and analyze and interpret the data. In addition, this individual will actively contribute to growing the lab's publication records, write federal and foundational research grant proposals, and continue to hone their skills in driving and managing multidisciplinary collaborations.

This person will also train and supervise current graduate and undergraduate students in the lab. The postdoc will also assist the PI in managing the lab, including but not limited to ordering lab supplies, managing lab inventory, lab upkeep, equipment maintenance, safety inspections, etc. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Biomedical Engineering or related fields from an accredited institution of higher education, conferred by the start of employment
  • Previous work with cancer nerve crosstalk and/or tissue engineered models of tumor microenvironments preferred, at minimum 3D cell/tissue culture in vitro
  • Experience conducting molecular assays and working with advanced imaging modalities
  • Laboratory fluency with a strong understanding of policies, procedures, and safety protocols

  • Clear communication skills

Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.

Salary Information: $51,021.00
