Sales Associate

Overview

Five Below is hiring part-time Sales Associates. We’re looking for candidates with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service while driving strong sales. Key qualities include excellent people and sales skills, attention to detail in keeping merchandise organized, ensuring the floor is well-stocked, and providing seamless checkout experiences at the register.

• Greet and assist customers promptly: approach and acknowledge customers, provide assistance and handle multiple customers efficiently.
• Understand and meet customer needs: assess needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing to merchandise, offering recommendations.
• Engage in suggestive selling while staying informed on product availability.
• Promote store events and promotions: inform customers about events, promotions, and activities to enhance their shopping experience and drive sales.
• Resolve customer concerns: address issues and use product knowledge to offer alternative solutions, aiming to turn returns into exchanges when possible.
• Communicate needs to management: inform management about restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback in a timely manner.
• Support team and company goals: collaborate with the team to achieve store and company objectives, contributing to a positive work environment.

• At least 16 years old
• Available to work a flexible schedule
• Comfortable with or willing to learn technology (cash registers, hand-held and mobile devices)
• Good communicator with the ability to engage with customers
• Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues courteously and professionally
• Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems
• Ability to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on-the-job training

• Frequently operate cash register
• Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove up to 5-10 feet high
• Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and store stock
• Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop in stock room and on the sales floor
• Frequently communicate with customers by phone and in person, and with managers and coworkers
• Frequently move across the sales floor to assist customers and retrieve/store merchandise
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends and possible overnight shifts and travel as required
• Must be able to identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures
• Must be able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time
