Shop General Laborer

Job Description

Assists shop mechanics in various tasks such as housekeeping. Assists the shop superintendent and mechanics in making precise part orders by using part numbers and matching with make and models. Duties also include picking up and delivering parts and keeping inventory and stocking parts as needed and directed.

• Experience in basic computer skills and knowledge of inventory.
• Ability to abide by and communicate precise instructions to personnel.
• Must have a good driving record and background to be assigned a company vehicle.
• Reliable, trustworthy, team‑oriented individual.
• Maintains a good attendance and safety record and is a self‑starter and motivated.

• Perform motions such as standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, and squatting.
• Remember and understand instructions, guidelines, or other information.
• See and verbally communicate effectively.
• Use hands regularly to touch, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Maintain visual abilities such as close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision, and adjust focus as needed.
• Regularly lift or carry items in excess of 25 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Walk and stand for a full day (12–15 hours).
• Work in extreme hot or cold temperatures; some night and weekend work required.
