Key Account Manager - National Accounts at Alpine, an ITW Company

Job Description

Alpine, an ITW Company and a leading provider of building component software, equipment, and best‑in‑industry service to component manufacturers, is partnering with customers to improve their businesses and increase productivity. We are seeking a Key Account Manager to support our national accounts, reporting to our National Account Manager. This role is central to our sales team, developing and maintaining relationships with top national customers and collaborating across departments.

Core Responsibilities
  • Relationship management for existing and strategically identified national accounts.
  • Develop and execute account plans and strategies to grow in partnership with national customers, identifying competitive issues, industry trends and business opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales and profitability targets with targeted national accounts.
  • Collaborate with Solutions Delivery, Marketing, and Software Development to implement software systems to accounts.
  • Map key external stakeholders / decision makers and establish relationships with national account partners.
  • Support the National Account Manager in developing new opportunities outside existing relationships.
  • Be a collaborative partner with project‑management skills and open communication with internal Alpine functions.
  • Partner with third‑party strategic partners to advocate and grow truss design support and whole‑house integration with national accounts.
  • Serve as the customer advocate and trusted business advisor, handling issues to resolution and marshaling resources such as software support and engineering service to meet performance objectives and expectations.
  • Proactively identify customer issues, taking corrective action, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and timely delivery of Alpine solutions.
  • Gain general understanding of customer or prospect’s business needs, reviewing and analyzing processes and recommending solutions that enable them to achieve goals.
  • Use a value‑added selling process while executing go‑to‑market strategy and negotiating skills to close business.
  • Develop specific target sales plans to increase market share on targeted product lines.
  • Develop comprehensive working knowledge of all products, i.e., software and machinery.
Qualifications
  • 4‑year degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing or Construction Management (preferred).
  • Demonstrated aggressive growth mindset and hunter capabilities.
  • Strong sales history, preferably with experience in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of truss plant operations desired, i.e., software, paper flow, production & plant layout.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Professional presentation skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Proven experience as a highly motivated, results‑driven, self‑starter.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite.
  • Industry‑related software a plus.
  • Bilingual abilities a plus.
Compensation Information

Certain states require pay information. The specific hiring rate will depend on qualifications, experience and location. For example, in Illinois the pay range is $82,000–$109,000 for highly experienced candidates.
