Job SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Job Supervisor or the Road Superintendent, the incumbent primarily performs labor tasks in the construction, improvement, and maintenance of county roads. The incumbent also operates road department equipment including dump trucks, loaders, and graders. Responsibilities include procurement and maintenance of the parts inventory, assisting with two‑way radio communications, and maintaining the physical condition of the shop building and assigned tools and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Operate road department equipment (dump trucks, loaders, graders).
• Maintain parts inventory and shop building.
• Assist with two‑way radio communications.
• Perform labor tasks for construction, improvement, and maintenance of county roads.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required.
• This position is subject to pre‑employment, random drug, and reasonable suspicion testing. If a promotional position, candidate must pass an assignment drug test.
• All new and rehires must pass a pre‑employment drug test and are subject to a physical examination and verification of information provided.
