HVAC Technician

The HVAC Technician is responsible for performing service, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems serving University Housing–managed properties. This includes, but is not limited to, heat pumps, large air handling units (AHUs), Energy Recovery Units (ERUs), chilled water and steam distribution systems (including connections to AHUs), and associated mechanical, electrical, and control components.

The Technician monitors, operates, and maintains HVAC control systems, including Johnson Controls systems, and demonstrates competent, working knowledge of the Metasys Building Automation System (BAS) to support efficient system operation, energy management, and occupant comfort. All work is performed in accordance with departmental standards, University HVAC protocols, applicable safety practices, and regulatory codes.
