Part-Time Diesel Technician - Skilled Trade Operations

The Part-Time Diesel Technician is responsible for the safe, timely repair, and maintenance of heavy‑duty transit vehicles, passenger vehicles, and other fleet vehicles used in transporting passengers to specific destinations within the City of Fayetteville Arkansas.

Regular, reliable, and non‑disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

• Ability to effectively communicate to be able to perform job duties
• Currently enrolled in a diesel technology program or equivalent hands‑on experience in a diesel technology field
• At least one year of experience in vehicle maintenance or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Diesel Truck Technician Certification or appropriate military service training
• Associate’s degree or advanced specialized or technical training
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• ASE Certification
• At least one year of heavy truck/ transit maintenance experience

Additional Information:

Graduate students are subject to background checks.

• Maintenance in Training $20.00
• Maintenance Tech I (0-750 Hours) $22.00
• Maintenance Tech II (751-1500 Hours) $23.00

Salary Information:

$20.00 - $25.00 Per Hour
