Position: SOCIAL SERVICES INTERNSHIP

Interns may perform any of the essential duties listed either in part or in whole. Lifeline places interns in a wide variety of roles within the organization and as such, we are unable to provide a comprehensive list of all possible intern responsibilities. As a final note, in order to ensure all educational standards are met, the intern’s field placement requirements provided by their institution will supersede any internal Lifeline intern responsibilities.

General

Services
  • To be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ to co-workers, clients and ministry partners
  • Actively participates on assigned team in a manner aligned with scripture including, but not limited to, praying for and with them, sharing scripture in daily activities and leadership, modeling the character of Jesus Christ in interactions with team and any external clients, partners, vendors, etc.
  • Participates in assigned team dynamics, internal & external processes, and final product of team’s work with Biblical principles and with Lifeline’s Core Values.
  • Assists with any team project as assigned.
  • Coordinate with State or Program Director on strategic outreach efforts to the local church community.
  • Participate in local informational meeting about programs offered in intern’s location including, but not limited to: adoption, church-based programs, foster care, Harbor Families, etc.
  • Assist assigned team with administrative duties such as paperwork, case noting and case management tasks
  • Possible engagement in direct practice with women from various socioeconomic backgrounds
  • May gain experience networking with local partners and event promotion on behalf of the agency.
Casework
  • Shadow home study visits
  • assist with information meetings for families interested in adopting
  • Attend staff and team meetings
  • help with other projects (resource manuals, educational videos, community resources)
  • may also work on preparing dossiers for submission to foreign governments, working with the Department of State and US Embassies.
  • Research trends in childhood trauma, institutionalization, and attachment issues.
Educational Services
  • Assist with the promotion & logistics of Church-based programs such as Families Count or Heritage Builders which may include taking and recording referrals, contacting participants or caseworkers referred to class, arranging transportation, creating case files for participants and equipping the mentors with the applicable contact information.
  • Assist with the execution of education events.
  • Liaison with Crisis Pregnancy Centers that have requested information from Lifeline.
Global Orphan Care
  • Assist the team in preparing curriculum and other resources to equip the Body of Christ across the globe
