Bus Operator - Full-Time

Job Summary

The Bus Operator provides safe, reliable transportation for passengers in fixed route service. Responsibilities include operating the vehicle, maintaining safety and equipment, managing daily reporting, and delivering excellent customer service. The position may involve shift rotation with shift differentials.

• Safely operate a large passenger motor vehicle on assigned routes.

• Perform pre‑ and post‑operational safety checks.

• Accumulate and record statistics for daily fixed‑route service reports.

• Deliver outstanding customer service.

• Maintain regular, reliable attendance and foster collegial working relationships.

• Adhere to the base schedule of Tuesday‑Saturday, with Saturday a mandatory workday; overtime may be required.

• High school diploma or equivalent formal education
• At least two years of driving experience
• Valid driver’s license

• CDL Class B or higher with Passenger Endorsement
• Experience operating large 35‑ or 40‑foot transit vehicles on city streets in fixed‑route service

• Knowledge of DOT/CDL regulations
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work with and learn technology
• Ability to succeed in a diverse working environment

Razorback Transit offers paid CDL training and reimburses the cost of testing materials upon successful completion of the written and skills tests for the CDL license.

$43,680 – $56,160, commensurate with education and experience.
