The Ministry Assistant is responsible to perform specific and general ministry and church-wide tasks. This position serves staff pastors/ministry leaders as needed for a range of duties related to their ministry function. Additionally, this position works from the reception desk, providing a warm and helpful experience to any who come through the doors of FFBC as a first impression.
Major Responsibilities Ministry Assistance- Aid pastors/ministry leaders with printing and project-based work as needed including but not limited to curriculum, event organization, reservations, orders, making copies, etc. All staff pastors may request aid as needed (though workload will be managed by supervisor to avoid overwork).
- May aid in church membership assimilation processes, such as the request of membership letters for prospective members.
- Aid in Sunday School record-keeping.
- Will be trained to operate within our Church Management Software (Realm).
- Aid in the organization and distribution of Sunday Schol material (if needed).
- Represent the church as a positive and helpful first impression to those who come to our office, call by phone, or make a general inquiry via email.
- Stay informed on church operations and events to helpfully communicate to those who call or visit with questions.
- Retrieve and distribute mail to staff as needed.
This is a general statement of job responsibilities; however, the Ministry Assistant is expected to perform other duties as required to support the mission and ministries of Fayetteville First Baptist Church including job duty changes due to pandemics or any other unexpected change in operations.
SupervisionThis position does not oversee any other staff member.
Education and ExperienceThis role must be filled by a committed Christian. No degree is required, but strong organizational skills, a warm and inviting personality, and a team‑player attitude is expected. Church experience (staff member, ministry leader, active volunteer) is preferred but not required. Licensure as a notary public is welcome but not required.
The ideal candidate for this role has a servant’s heart, a team‑player attitude, is able to keep confidences, and does well in a flexible work environment where people come first and multi‑tasking is common.
