Position: Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Overview

Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing – Up to $40–$46/hour | Fayetteville, GA | Full-Time | 2026–2027 School Year | Full-time contract position supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a collaborative, structured school environment.

  • Elementary School caseload
  • Full Time - Starting July 2026
  • 1.0 FTE, M-F
What You’ll Do
  • Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance
  • Instruct students based on Individualized Education Programs (IEP); assess and monitor student progress
  • Develop lesson plans; identify instructional materials, assess equipment to augment instruction; maintain student data; and utilize a variety of instructional strategies to improve student achievement and promote positive student behavior
  • Prepare relevant paperwork prior to scheduling and conducting IEP meetings. Ensure compliance with state rules and regulations, IEP development and implementation, timelines and data collection for students on the caseload
  • Consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, interpreters, and other professionals regarding students’ educational programming
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional learning activities
  • Monitor and maintain assistive listening devices
  • Perform other duties as assigned and allowable by intended program
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in education of the hearing impaired
  • Valid Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in the area of hearing impairment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • School-based experience preferred, but not required
