Music Teacher

Music & Arts is seeking a passionate Music Teacher for our retail location. In this role, you'll provide private and small-group lessons to students of all ages and skill levels, helping them build solid fundamentals, confidence, and a lifelong love of music. You'll design lesson plans, track progress, and prepare students for school performances and auditions. Working in our busy retail store, you'll collaborate with sales staff to support instrument and accessory needs.

This on-site position is ideal for a working musician or educator who thrives in a student-focused, community-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group music lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels in-store
• Develop structured lesson plans aligned with student goals and school or program requirements
• Assess student progress and provide clear, encouraging feedback to students and parents
• Prepare students for school performances, auditions, and ensemble participation
• Maintain accurate lesson schedules, attendance records, and student notes
• Collaborate with store staff to support sales of instruments, accessories, and lesson packages
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment in lesson studios
• Participate in recitals, events, and community outreach to promote music education
• Care for and properly use store instruments, equipment, and teaching spaces
• Stay current on music education methods, repertoire, and relevant teaching tools
