Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider to patients from birth through the lifecycle, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with Piedmont Healthcare's Mission and Vision Statements. The LPN functions within the framework of their license and the organization's policies and procedures, demonstrates professional growth and accountability, guides ancillary staff, collaborates with other health care professionals, and blends compassion, caring and technologically appropriate competency to deliver holistic care to the patient.
ResponsibilitiesThe Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes the nursing process to deliver holistic care to patients, while demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and collaboration with ancillary staff and other health care professionals.
Education- Graduate of an LPN program (required)
- New graduates of an accredited nursing school are eligible
- Nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred
- LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse (state licensure required)
- BCLS – Basic Life Support (required)
- Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area (preferred)
- ACLS required if working in Emergency Department
- PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support required if working in Emergency Department within 180 days
- LPNs new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 180 days
