Preadmission Testing PRN- Nurse Practitioner​/Physician Assistant- Fayetteville

Overview

Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for a Preadmission Testing Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Piedmont Augusta. Our preadmission testing position works Monday through Friday 08:00 – 16:30/ 09:30-18:00, offering a consistent and flexible lifestyle.

• Perform Pre-Anesthesia Screening assessments to determine if a patient is optimized for planned anesthetic.
• Examine, evaluate, and treat patients with serious medical conditions, illnesses, or injuries.
• Assign ASA Physical Status Score.
• Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record data in the patient’s medical record to include airway assessments, Mallampati score, heart and lung sounds.
• Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
• Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
• Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventive and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists to develop a strong working knowledge of pre‑anesthesia testing protocols and guidelines.

Minimum qualifications

• Masters or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited PA program and National Board Certification
• Licensed as a nurse and approved to practice as an NP by the State of Georgia with National Certification
