Job DescriptionThe AV Programming and Network Apprentice will learn how to configure, program, and commission systems through a combination of vendor and industry training and hands‑on experience. This includes setting up, installing, operating, testing, and troubleshooting AV control and related equipment to create an experience that will help our clients impress their audience.
Responsibilities- Understand and review all drawings so that all related information, schedules and documentation is understood.
- Verify all of the drawings, code, site pictures, and job description are complete and you have access to them.
- Ensure the equipment is programmed, configured and tested before onsite installation so that it delivers the functionality as defined in the SoW.
- Complete a walk through of the site with the PM and go over all details of the installation.
- Configure network switches.
- Program DSP and load control code as necessary.
- Create end-user guides and conduct end-user training.
- Ensure that the job is completed to ASW and industry standards for a safe and fully functional system.
- Update mission progress in ACC and Zoho Projects at the end of each day.
- Ensure that all equipment is connected per the drawings.
- If the drawings are incorrect for functionality, mark the necessary changes accordingly in ACC.
- Submit all changes to engineering for as‑built drawings.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to both the ASW office in Fayetteville, Georgia and client sites
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- IP networking knowledge
- AV and IT system troubleshooting skills
- IP network switch and router configuration including VLAN and QoS prioritization
- Understanding of networking protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSL, and others
- Occasional after hours work and/or travel may be required
- Flexibility to work around class schedules
- Working with an amazing team and cool gear!
- Financial assistance with AVIXA and other certifications
