Overview

An established manufacturing company with a strong share of the U.S. market for its products is seeking an Industrial Plant Electrician (Level II or Level III) for its plant in the southwest Atlanta suburbs, based in Fayetteville, GA. This is a day-shift, on-site role focused primarily on electrical maintenance with some mechanical/maintenance crossover.

What you'll do
  • Maintain, service, and troubleshoot plant equipment and site property, making mechanical and electrical repairs safely and efficiently
  • Work with pneumatics and compressed air systems, including troubleshooting air logic systems using schematics and installing air logic controls from prints
  • Identify and troubleshoot hydraulic circuit components such as check valves, accumulators, cylinders, flow controls, directional and pressure control valves, oil coolers, and filters; explain differences between hydraulic pump types
  • Perform plumbing-related tasks including layout, ordering, and installation of plumbing systems (sweat, glued, screwed, welded connections), interpreting isometric drawings, and sizing pumps for proper flow and pressure
  • Install and troubleshoot 120 and 480 volt circuits, AC and DC power systems, and 12 to 24 volt DC systems
  • Wire step-down transformers, read and write electrical schematics, troubleshoot PLC systems via computer, and install/troubleshoot electric motors and AC/DC drives
  • Use electrical test equipment to take voltage and current readings and conduct ohm and meggar testing
  • Perform welding tasks including Arc welding, Mig welding, plasma cutting, and oxy-fuel cutting
  • Use knowledge of fabrication equipment to complete maintenance tasks, consistent with Level III responsibilities
  • Perform general and other duties as assigned
What you'll need
  • At least 6 years of related experience
  • Multi craft maintenance technician experience
  • Experience troubleshooting hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Experience troubleshooting HMI and PLC systems
  • 12 to 24 volt DC experience
  • Up to 480 volt AC experience
  • Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and blueprints
  • Preferred: certified as an electrician on the commercial side in the state of GA
