What You Will Do
Our Department of War (DOW) Financial Management Consultants help federal clients optimize the operations of their finance organization, including supporting audit readiness, accounting, logistics, property management, civilian pay, and procurement. We support audit remediation activities by developing and updating process documentation, standard operating procedures, and corrective action plans to address findings, perform recurring testing of internal controls, design and execute Managers Internal Controls Programs (A-123), and provide targeted area support based on component needs such as root cause analysis for journal vouchers, FBWT variances, and PP&E audit remediation.
This project team works across a DOW entity’s multiple systems and processes, collaborating with component office teams and the headquarters team to trace and document auditability from the financial statement to operational functions. The individual will build an understanding of accounting and financial processes and manage large volumes of data in Excel, financial systems, or other databases, while adapting to Federal audit standards, DOW processes, and internal control standards to document, recommend, and implement process improvements that achieve audit readiness.
