About UsThe North Carolina State Highway Patrol's primary mission is to reduce collisions and make the highways of North Carolina as safe as possible. The NCSHP has more than 1,600 troopers who cover nearly 80,000 miles of North Carolina roadways, more than any other state except Texas. In addition to enforcing the state's traffic laws, state troopers also guide traffic during hurricane evacuations, re-route traffic around hazardous chemical spills, and they stand ready should any act of terrorism occur.

Description of Work This position provides administrative support to the Medical Office Staff. This includes drafting correspondence, administratively supporting the doctors and nurse with patient scheduling, entering medical data, injury tracking of Basic School cadets, and maintaining medical files for SHP members and associated agencies. In addition, a database of all physicals and updates are maintained for the Patrol.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide administrative and clerical support to the State Highway Patrol Training Academy.
Maintain accurate and confidential training records and information for Patrol personnel.
Assist with the coordination and documentation of training programs, courses, seminars, and educational opportunities.
Provide administrative support for training conducted for municipal, county, state, and federal agencies.
Assist with the coordination of Academy activities, including specialized training and related events.
Process and maintain records related to accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, forms, and other administrative documents.
Management Prefers:
Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.
Extensive computer knowledge and proficiency.
Experience with email, Internet applications, and information management systems such as CAD.Position/

Monday-Thursday 6:00am- 4:00pm
