Position: Recreation Assistant for Summer Day Camp

Position Overview

Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation is currently seeking Recreation Assistants for all of their Summer Camp locations to perform duties of summer day camp assistant (summer only) and gym and/or field supervisor duties at centers that have a gym or field(s) located on or near the recreation center site.

Part-time, Seasonal Employment. The anticipated start date for selected candidates will be Monday, May 04, 2026. The Summer Day Camp program will run from May 26, 2026 to August 14, 2026 and meets on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The program is designed for children who have completed Kindergarten through 12th grade.

* E.E. Miller Recreation Center will offer Summer Day Camp from June 15 to July 10.

Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
Screening
  • Applicant may be subject to a criminal history record check. The City may consider the results in hiring decisions.
Application Process

From the time of closing, the selection process is anticipated to last approximately 4-6 weeks. Process includes a panel interview, a pre-employment drug screen, a background check and a driving history check.
