Locum Anesthesiologist Job Details

Assignment Length: 26 weeks
Schedule:
5 shifts per week
Shift: Monday–Friday, Day Shift 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Shift Duration: 8-hour days
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $9,890 – $10,430 (competitive pay package)
Overtime: Not expected, but may be offered
Charting/EMR: iPro
OR/Anesthesia Environment: 19 anesthesia rooms
Care Team Model: Physicians supervise CRNAs and also perform their own cases ( ratio 1:4)
Credentialing: Must be able to cross-credential at affiliated sites as required
Anesthesiologist (MD/DO) Requirements
Experience:
Prior anesthesiology experience in a hospital/OR setting
Education:
M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
Training: Completion of an approved anesthesiology residency
Board Certification: Required
Licensure: Active physician license (candidates needing to obtain a state license are not accepted)
Additional: ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable)
Key Responsibilities (Perioperative & OR Anesthesia)
Assist in directing and coordinating activities within the Anesthesia Department
Provide perioperative medical management for patients undergoing surgery and procedures
Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and develop individualized anesthesia care plans
Obtain and/or verify informed consent; discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients
Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia across a broad case mix
Continuously monitor and document patient physiological status throughout procedures
Perform clinical interventions as needed, including airway and hemodynamic management
Collaborate with surgeons, nursing, and CRNAs to support safe, efficient OR operations
