Job Duties:

The Department of Music in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor of Music Education beginning August 2026. This is a 9-month faculty appointment with a standard academic workload of 100% teaching, up to four classes per semester. Teaching assignments may include undergraduate and graduate music education methods, and other courses based on departmental needs.

The role also involves interacting with local public-school teachers and working with student teachers. Responsibilities may also include advising undergraduate honors theses, as well as master's theses and research projects. Initial appointment is for one year with the opportunity for reappointment that will be based on performance and continued need. The University is especially seeking candidates who can enhance the excellence of the academic community.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
