Academic Advisor II – Full Time

Fayetteville Technical Community College is recruiting a new member to join our Student Services Success Team. The Academic Advisor II is a member of the Academic Advising Team focused on student success, retention, and persistence. The role provides specialized guidance and support to students within a specific academic discipline or program, offers advanced academic guidance, mentors Academic Advisor I, and participates in strategic initiatives to enhance student success.

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in education, behavioral sciences, leadership or a closely related field.
• Two years of increasingly responsible academic, career, and personal coaching experience or other relevant academic advising functions.

• Knowledge of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the financial aid process.
• Experience developing and maintaining a learner-centered and culturally responsive approach to advising and case management for new and continuing students.
• Experience with advising students holistically throughout the entire college experience.
• Experience supporting students’ progression toward their educational and career goals through the use of various evidence-based strategies.
