Qualifications: A four‑year degree from an accredited institution with NC certification in the assigned area of teaching.

Reports To: Principal

Job Goal: To demonstrate leadership, establish a respectful environment for a diverse population of students, know the content taught, facilitate learning, and reflect on practice.

• Building leadership among the staff and with the administration to bring about consensus and shared ownership of the school's vision and purpose.
• Making content engaging, relevant, and meaningful by aligning instruction with the Common Core, essential standards, and 21st‑century content including global, financial, economic, business, entrepreneurial, civic, and health literacy.
• Teaching core content revised to include critical thinking, problem‑solving, and ICT literacy.
• Facilitating instruction with varied methods and integrating technology.
• Assessing learning and helping students work in teams and develop leadership qualities.
• Collaborating with families and significant adults, adapting instruction for students with special needs, and embracing fairness.
• Demonstrating ethical principles of honesty, integrity, fair treatment, and respect (NC Code of Ethics).
• Serving as a team player and role model, supporting continuous improvement and core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, and fairness.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

• Communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.
• Have finger dexterity and perform basic life functions such as kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.

Salary: $4,100 to $6,155 per month
