QUALIFICATIONS: A four-year degree from an accredited institution with NC certification in assigned area of teaching.

REPORTS TO: Principal

JOB GOAL: To demonstrate leadership, to establish a respectful environment for a diverse population of students, to know the content they teach, to facilitate learning for their students, and to reflect on their practice.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Building leadership among staff and with administration to bring consensus and shared ownership of the vision and purpose of work.
• Making content engaging, relevant, and meaningful by aligning instruction with common core, essential standards, and 21st‑century content including global awareness, financial, economic, business, entrepreneurial literacy, civic literacy, and health awareness.
• Teaching core content that includes critical thinking, problem‑solving, and ICT literacy.
• Facilitating instruction using varied methods and technology.
• Assessing student learning and helping them work in teams and develop leadership.
• Collaborating with families and adults to adapt teaching for students with special needs and embrace fairness.
• Demonstrating ethical principles: honesty, integrity, fair treatment, respect (Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct for NC Educators).
• Serving as a team player and role model, supporting continuous improvement and organizational core values: caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, customer‑driven, and fairness.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

• Communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.
• Have finger dexterity and be able to perform basic life operational functions: kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.

• Current Certified Teachers: upload legible copy of official transcript for all degree levels in PDF format, a copy of an NC Teaching License or other current license, and a resume.
• Residency candidates: upload legible copy of official Bachelor's transcripts in PDF format, any previously licensed information, and resume.
