JOB GOAL: To demonstrate leadership, to establish a respectful environment for a diverse population of students, to know the content they teach, to facilitate learning for their students, and to reflect on their practice.

Teachers demonstrate the value of lifelong learning and encourage their students to learn and grow by:

• Building leadership among staff and with the administration to bring about consensus and shared ownership of the school's vision and purpose.
• Making the content taught engaging, relevant, and meaningful by aligning instruction with the Common Core, essential standards, and 21st‑century content, including global awareness, financial, economic, business, entrepreneurial, civic, and health literacy.
• Teaching core content revised to include critical thinking, problem‑solving, and ICT literacy.
• Facilitating instruction using a variety of methods appropriate for students and integrating technology.
• Assessing what students have learned and helping them work in teams and develop leadership qualities.
• Collaborating with families and significant adults, adapting instruction for students with special needs, and embracing fairness in the school community and beyond.
• Demonstrating ethical principles of honesty, integrity, fair treatment, and respect for others (Code of Ethics for NC Educators, NCAC 6C.0601; Standards of Professional Conduct for NC Educators, NCAC 6C.0602).
• Acting as a team player and role model for others, demonstrating commitment to continuous quality improvement, and supporting organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, customer‑driven focus, and fairness.
• Performing other duties and accepting responsibilities as assigned.

• Ability to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.
• Finger dexterity and ability to perform basic life operational functions: kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.

• Current certified teachers must upload a legible copy of official transcripts for all degree levels in PDF format, a copy of an NC teaching license or other current license, and a resume.
• Residency candidates must upload a legible copy of official bachelor's transcripts in PDF format, any prior licensed information, and a resume.
• International applicants not affiliated with a sponsoring program must upload a legible copy of the original foreign transcript, a copy of the officially evaluated transcript from a reputable company in PDF format, a copy of the Social Security Card, and a front‑back copy of either the work authorization card or permanent resident card, plus a resume.
