The Adjunct Faculty - Biology Instructor role is a contract, on-site position located in Charlotte, NC. The instructor will teach undergraduate biology courses, deliver engaging lectures, facilitate classroom discussions, and guide learners in both theoretical and applied concepts. Daily responsibilities include preparing course materials, designing and grading assessments, maintaining accurate records, and providing timely feedback to learners. The role also involves supervising laboratory activities, promoting safe lab practices, and collaborating with the Adult & Online Education team to support program outcomes and student success.
Qualifications- Strong disciplinary knowledge in Biology and Physiology, with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts.
- Demonstrated Teaching experience in higher education, with skill in engaging diverse adult learners.
- Proficiency in Curriculum Development, including preparing syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with course outcomes.
- Solid Laboratory Skills, including safe operation of equipment, oversight of experiments, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Advanced degree in Biology or a closely related field (minimum of a master's degree; doctoral degree preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive, learner-centered instruction.
- Ability to integrate technology and learning management systems into teaching and assessment.
