Fayetteville Technical Community College is recruiting for a new member to join our Corporate & Continuing Education Team and now accepting applications for a full-time Program Technician!
The Program Technician position requires a broad knowledge of Cosmetology to perform a full range of technical and program support, administrative support, and complex clerical duties independently for all related Cosmetology programs. Prepare and maintain the required paperwork, and auditable documents, to meet the rules and regulations set forth by the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Arts.

Essential Duties—Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:- Maintain currency on all rules/regulations from the NC Board of Cosmetic Arts.
- Assist faculty and students in the implementation of updates/changes to the rules and regulations from the NC Board of Cosmetic Arts.
- Serve as the primary contact, liaison, and resource for assigned functions and programs with staff, students, and the general public.
- Communicate information in person or by telephone where judgment, knowledge, and interpretation of policies and procedures are necessary; assist students and other staff in interpreting and applying program area policies and procedures; research information related to program area policies and procedures.
- Create and manage accurate files for each student per NC Board of Cosmetic Arts requirements.
- Verify and review materials, applications, records, and reports for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with established regulations and procedures.
- Oversee and monitor student hours through Board approved software.
- Perform a variety of special projects and assignments in assigned area including Cosmetology new student orientation sessions, recruitment activities through group and individual tours of the department, and attend open houses, orientations, and career fairs.
- Establish and maintain a variety of complex, interrelated filing systems including confidential files; maintain manuals and updated resource materials. Complete, submit, and maintain required NC Board of Cosmetic Arts forms in a timely manner.
- Provide training to part-time records clerks.
- Perform a variety of general bookkeeping and clerical accounting duties and responsibilities involved in financial record keeping and reporting for assigned area; support front desk operations as receptionist, cashier, and schedule clinic appointments.
- Provide orientation training to new full-time and part-time faculty on NC Board of Cosmetic Arts processes and software.
- Represent program activities to public and private schools, outside agencies, and corporations.
- Liaison between hiring employers and students.
