Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an Engineering Continuous Improvement Manager. This is a Full Time role working ONSITE Monday-Friday (Daylight hours). This position is based at our Fayetteville, NC location. Relocation benefits are available from within the United States.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $97,000 - $143,000 a year.

What You’ll Do PRIMARY FUNCTION

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the Continuous Improvement Engineering (CIE) teams supporting the Low Voltage Motor Control Center (LVMCC) and Enclosed Control (EC) product lines. This position oversees the engineering resources dedicated to these efforts and actively contributes to the execution of maintenance and design initiatives.

In addition to leadership duties, the role serves as a technical contributor, providing design engineering guidance to support the product lines. This includes, but is not limited to, MCC engineering designs, the development of customized aftermarket MCC solutions, and collaboration with COE, COD, and CIE team members in the creation and application of these designs.

This position plays a key strategic role by collaborating directly with Manufacturing, Application Engineering, Quality, and New Product Development teams to provide technical guidance and resolve cross-functional issues. The role is also responsible for overseeing and continuously improving the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process, ensuring full compliance with applicable ISO standards and requirements.

This position leads the team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Customer Order Engineering systems (MI Systems Team) for the Low Voltage Motor Control Center (LVMCC) product line. The role oversees the automation systems supporting these product lines while attracting, developing, and evaluating top engineering talent to strengthen organizational capabilities.

Essential Functions
  • Manages workload and provides guidance for multiple CIE teams (CIE Fayetteville, CIE MCC Pune, CIE EC Pune) as necessary to ensure compliance with engineering design and drafting standards, manufacturing needs and quality support.
  • Manages incoming work and provides standards guidance to multiple outside teams (MCC NPD, EC NPD, Watertown/Pune EC NPD).
  • Manages the resources responsible for maintaining custom programs for manufacturing and engineering systems as required and as associated to AutoCAD, Inventor and other CAD systems, as well as Bid Manager MI Tables and GUI, DA Mech II scripting and maintenance.
  • Manages the productivity of the department by analyzing volume and accuracy by individual contributors and the collective team. Leverages the Talent Hub process to communicate and manage required development plans and performance to goal.
  • Manages multiple large projects (Cost Out, New Design, Product Improvement, part obsolescence and substitution) across product lines to completion within deadlines with little or no supervision. Provides design and technical assistance to plant support functions, field sales, and customers as needed.
  • Manages the upgrade and maintenance of engineering CAD and PLM systems for engineering and the plant.
  • Drives continuous improvements in CIE performance through improvement of systems and processes.
  • Establishes and provides for CIE training needs based on current individual/team performance.
  • Leads the Continuous Improvement activities within the CIE teams for all product lines.
  • Manages the resolution of quality issues related to CIE (Internal and External).

Assists the Fayetteville and other manufacturing sites to resolve design, BOM and technical questions. Provide review of product deviations and provide solutions to unique/non-standard situations.

Qualifications Basic (Required)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Five (5)+ years of experience in mechanical design, sheet metal design, 3D CAD modeling, and assembly or installation
