Senior Custom Order Engineer
Eaton's Electrical Sector - ARS PDCA division is currently seeking a Senior Custom Order Engineer based onsite at our Eaton Fayetteville, NC facility. Relocation assistance is available to candidates currently residing in the US. The Sr Customer Order Engineer is responsible for providing electrical and mechanical design and documentation support for power distribution product lines. This includes, but is not limited to engineering designs, providing direction to application engineers and designers, utilization of design automation software, and collaborating directly with production, customers, and field sales.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What You'll Do:- Consult with plant and field sales engineers in interpreting and defining new equipment applications.
- Develop a variety of complex drawings and bills-of-material based upon established product designs, which provides sufficient detail to accurately convey the purchaser's equipment application.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.
- Advise Drafting/Design, Manufacturing, and Purchasing – when required – in interpreting information for the accurate production of equipment in accordance with the purchaser's requirements.
- Manage purchaser onsite visits to approve and/or release equipment for shipping.
- Manage Manufacturing and Engineering Change Notices.
- Demonstrate advanced computer skills with ability to learn required software (Bid Manager, AutoCAD, Design Automation, MAPICS).
- Consult with Quality in resolving issues after the equipment is shipped, when required.
- Conduct special development/application projects of a complex nature.
- Inform cost and cycle time improvement activities.
- Conduct technical training guidance and seminars, as required.
- Analyze needs and recommends revisions to Department Policies and Procedures.
Basic (required) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering concentration from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two (2) years of engineering experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Two or more years of experience with AutoCAD and/or other engineering and design software programs.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience and/or knowledge of electrical distribution equipment.
- Working knowledge of N.E.C., IEEE, UL, and various local electric codes.
- Ability to interpret both customer specifications and electrical and mechanical drawings.
