We are seeking an AV Design Engineer 3 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of the SES Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high‑growth markets.
Responsibilities- Creating drawing packages and bill of materials in CAD.
- Design and testing of complex videoconferencing and integrated audio/visual technologies and A/V based collaboration technologies.
- Design of audio/video systems with Crestron, AMX and Extron control systems.
- Conduct customer site surveys and provide sales engineering support, including collecting and recording detailed operational, functional and technical requirements, developing project scopes, and providing overall system costing for A/V projects.
- Design and test and troubleshoot various network and telecommunications systems including IP networks and ISDN networks.
- Understanding plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of electrical plans, blueprint and drawings.
- Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
- Develop test plans for complex AV control system functional acceptance tests of AMX, Crestron, and Extron control systems.
- Develop and conduct on‑site user and administrative training for the installed integrated audio/visual systems.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance is required.
Education/Experience
:
- 3–5 years of progressive experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline; or a Master’s Degree with 3+ years of progressive experience in the following: developing and implementing hardware and software solutions for data center and virtual infrastructure technologies; demonstrating experience with developing cost estimates and work breakdown structures for the design and implementation of complex projects;
demonstrating experience performing technical cross‑training/coaching of junior colleagues; demonstrating background working with multidisciplinary teams; demonstrating time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives; ability to travel, including internationally, up to 20% of the time. - Familiarity with IT, telecommunications, A/V and electrical equipment including related materials and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of videoconferencing standards.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Experience performing complex design/build and conceptual design practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
